Soccer Game Preview: Kerman vs. Tulare Union

The Kerman Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Tulare Union The Tribe at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kerman's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

It was a proper cat-fight when Kerman challenged Sunnyside on Friday. Kerman fell just short of Sunnyside by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Wildcats are ranked 124th).

Meanwhile, Tulare Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-1 to Madera South. The The Tribe were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-1.

Tulare Union's loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for Kerman, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

Kerman took their victory against Tulare Union when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kerman since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
