Recap: Shields Panthers vs. Red Level Tigers
The Shields Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 71-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Red Level. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (60), Shields still had to take the loss.
Shields' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dante Leffall, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Cantangelo Hicks, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
Shields' loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Red Level, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Shields won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hillcrest will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Red Level will take on Georgiana at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
