Baseball Game Preview: Fowler Grizzlies vs. Peyton Panthers

Fowler is on an 18-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Peyton is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Grizzlies will welcome the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Fowler and Crowley County meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Chargers. Considering the Grizzlies have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Peyton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Limon 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this matchup were averaging 3.88 runs allowed.

Bryce Compton made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryce Love, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Peyton's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Fowler, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.
