Baseball Recap: Sunset Find Success

Sunset hadn't done well against Molina recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bison skirted past the Jaguars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bison have posted since March 1st.

Edwin Chavez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Sunset is 7-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-9 otherwise. Chavez was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Chavez wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Pablo Benitez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits Benitez has posted since back in March.

Sunset's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Molina, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Sunset will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Jaguars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
