Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Triumph Charter

Triumph Charter had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Valor Academy. The Jaguars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Valor Academy, too.

Richard Reyes was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Triumph Charter is undefeated when Reyes posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Vazquez, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Triumph Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Triumph Charter's victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Coming up, Triumph Charter will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Bert Corona Charter at 2:00 p.m. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.8 runs per game on average), something the Jaguars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Valor Academy, they will challenge Lakeview Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
