West extended the longest winning streak in Bay this week by beating North, 30-27. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

Leuzinger moved up to 765 from 797 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 34-20 win over Hawthorne helped the Olympians improve their standing.

Palos Verdes's Bryan Scott and Dean Alessi have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Scott has thrown for 395 yards this season, while Alessi, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 12 catches for 273 yards. James Nelson from Palos Verdes Peninsula leads the league in rushing with 357 yards.

The top two teams in Bay will face off this week when first place West takes on second place Mira Costa. Last week, West beat the Saxons, while Mira Costa defeated Newport Harbor.

Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Panthers take on Redondo Union. Palos Verdes Peninsula's offense has scored 84 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Sea Hawks have allowed only 173 on the year.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Mustangs take on Greg Holt's team. Mira Costa has allowed 103 points this season, while the Warriors have given up 104. Don Morrow's team allowed 14 points last week as it bested the Sailors.

West and North played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with West eventually emerging with a 30-27 victory.
