Baseball Game Preview: Hudson Hornets vs. Palestine Wildcats

For the second straight game, Hudson will face off against Palestine. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hudson 3.3, Palestine 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Hudson is returning to their home field after beating Palestine on theirs, despite the fact Palestine has dominated at home this season. The Hornets walked away with a 7-2 win over the Wildcats on Tuesday.

Ceylan Williams tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Karter Wagoner, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson May, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hudson pushed their record up to 11-10-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Palestine, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6-1.
