East Greenwich extended their postseason success on Friday against South Kingstown. They pulled ahead with a 65-64 photo finish over the South Kingstown Rebels. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Avengers have posted since January 26, 2024.

East Greenwich's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jake Stanger led the charge by putting up 21 points. The dominant performance gave Stanger a new career-high in points. Quinn Scaramella was another key player, scoring 18 points.

Despite the loss, South Kingstown still got an impressive performance from James Wilson, who posted 22 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Wilson's seventh in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Chaloux, who earned 11 points and three steals.

East Greenwich has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. South Kingstown's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-5.

Coming up, East Greenwich will square off against Moses Brown at 8:00 p.m. on February 28th. Moses Brown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 22 games -- so hopefully East Greenwich likes a good challenge. South Kingstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
