Baseball Recap: Carver Birmingham Takes a Loss

Carver Birmingham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 16-7 to the Huffman Vikings. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 16-0.

Dejalin Woodside stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Ezekiel Woodside was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.

Carver Birmingham's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Huffman, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5.

Carver Birmingham has already played their next matchup, a 14-4 loss against Parker on the 21st. As for Huffman, they will be playing at home against Paul W. Bryant at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Paul W. Bryant is coming into the contest with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Huffman will have to defend against a team out to prove they can win away from home.
