Football Recap: Holmes Skates Past Perquimans with Ease

Holmes extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-4. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 59-21 win over the Perquimans Pirates. The Aces might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 26 points or more this season.

Holmes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Brendan Ganzert, Kazzure Downing, and Myles Cobb picked up one apiece. Downing also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Holmes is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Ganzert got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Perquimans, they now have a losing record of 4-5. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Holmes: they've now lost seven in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Perquimans lost, don't look at Ataviyon White. Despite the final result, he rushed for 61 yards and one touchdown.
