Softball Game Preview: West De Pere Phantoms vs. Two Rivers Purple Raiders

The West De Pere Phantoms will face off against the Two Rivers Purple Raiders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither West De Pere nor Two Rivers posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Friday just wasn't the day for West De Pere's offense. They lost 9-0 to Pulaski on Friday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Phantoms were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Two Rivers also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell 3-0 to New Holstein on Thursday. The Purple Raiders have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Reagan Stalter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Two Rivers saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Timm, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Timm is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Two Rivers' loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for West De Pere, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
