Volleyball Recap: Westport Takes a Loss

Westport was the 3-0 winner over Diman RVT when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Bengals on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

While Westport was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-20, 25-21.

Diman RVT's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joselaine Jimenez, who had 20 digs and one assist. Jimenez is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

Westport now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Diman RVT, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Westport will venture away from home to square off against Holbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Diman RVT, they will head out to face off against Southeastern RVT at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bengals are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
