Softball Recap: Bothell Cougars vs. Mount Si Wildcats

It was a good run, but Bothell unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Wednesday. Their rough 14-3 loss to the Mount Si Wildcats might stick with them for a while. Bothell was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mount Si apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March.

Bothell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Fowler, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

On Mount Si's side, Jenna Nowak tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Ally Hetzel was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Addie Craig, who went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Bothell's loss ended a 15-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-2. As for Mount Si, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Bothell will look to defend their home field on Friday against Redmond at 6:30 p.m. Bothell is on a eight-game streak of home wins, Redmond a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. As for Mount Si, they will head out on the road to face off against North Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mount Si is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
