Softball Recap: Ridge Community Takes a Loss

Ridge Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 18-10 to the Haines City Hornets. Even if the Bolts couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Timmesha Bodison was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Rihanna Jones also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Ridge Community's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Haines City, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridge Community will square off against Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakeland has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.57 runs per game on average), something Ridge Community will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Haines City, they will challenge Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
