Basketball Game Preview: Nordhoff Rangers vs. Cate Rams

Nordhoff hasn't had much luck against Cate recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Nordhoff Rangers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Cate Rams at 2:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Nordhoff came up into this matchup off a tough 27-point loss on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Fillmore by a score of 61-59 on Friday. The Rangers just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, Cate had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down the Wildcats 65-47.

Cate's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Nordhoff, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Nordhoff came up short against Cate in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 53-43. Can Nordhoff avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
