Soccer Game Preview: Geneseo vs. Peoria Notre Dame

Geneseo hasn't had much luck against Peoria Notre Dame recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Maple Leafs are taking a road trip to challenge the Irish at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Geneseo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Limestone get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. It was an even better day for Olivia DeSplinter as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Peoria Notre Dame waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Raiders 9-0. Peoria Notre Dame's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

Peoria Notre Dame's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-1-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five games. As for Geneseo, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Geneseo might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Peoria Notre Dame when the teams last played back in March. Can the Maple Leafs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
