Soccer Game Preview: Hoover vs. Pike Road

The Hoover Buccaneers are taking a road trip to take on the Pike Road Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hoover is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Hoover is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Florence, who was ranked fifth at the time (Hoover was ranked second). The Buccaneers came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. Hoover haven't had any issues with Florence recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Patrick Anderson and Tanner Wells scored all four of Hoover's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, Pike Road came up short against Franklin Christian Academy on Saturday and fell 3-1. Pike Road have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pike Road's loss dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 14-1-1.
