Softball Recap: Los Amigos Lobos vs. Western Pioneers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Santiago, Los Amigos was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Western Pioneers by a score of 8-4. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 12-2 win back in April.
Sophia Gutierrez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
