Basketball Game Preview: Munster Mustangs vs. Andrean Fighting 59ers

Munster is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Thursday. They will host the Andrean Fighting 59ers at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Munster is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Chesterton on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs took a blow against the Trojans, falling 47-15. The Mustangs were down 33-10 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Munster's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Igboamaka Odeluga, who posted two points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals, and Arroya Mongerie, who scored three points. Odeluga is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 56-26, which was the final score in Andrean's tilt against Crown Point on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Fighting 59ers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Munster now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Andrean, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
