Soccer Recap: Poquoson Takes a Loss

Poquoson came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 4-1 to the Warhill Lions. While losing is never fun, Poquoson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Warhill are ranked 34th).

Poquoson's goal came courtesy of Gage Vaughan, which was the first he's scored this season.

Poquoson's loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1. As for Warhill, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poquoson will take on Kecoughtan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Warhill, they will face off against Grafton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
