Football Recap: Rural Retreat Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Rural Retreat lost against Lebanon back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Indians were beaten by the Pioneers 64-26. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Rural Retreat lost, don't look at Chaz Penwright Jr.. Despite the final result, he rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns.

Lebanon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mike Reece, who threw for 430 yards and six TDs while picking up 14.3 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 71 yards and one score on only nine carries. The Pioneers' leading receiver Toby Baker was Reece's top target yet again, picking up 307 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Rural Retreat's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lebanon, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Rural Retreat will square off against George Wythe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lebanon, they will face off against Richlands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Tornado will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
