Football Recap: Osceola Picks Up 12th Straight Win on the Road

Osceola had won 11 straight road games dating back to last season and Daniella Buttacavoli did her part to make it 12 on Thursday. The Osceola Warriors came out on top against the St. Petersburg Green Devils by a score of 14-6 for which the team can thank Buttacavoli, who threw for 218 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 39 yards. That's the most passing yards she has posted over her last 12 matches.

Osceola didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Delaney Golden and Holland Downey.

Osceola is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.0 points on average over those games. St. Petersburg's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After each having a week off, Osceola and Lakewood will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th. Osceola's defense has only allowed 11.3 points per game this season, so Lakewood's offense will have their work cut out for them. St. Petersburg will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pinellas Park at 7:30 p.m. on March 25th. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (St. Petersburg 12.1, Pinellas Park 10.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
