North Branford dropped their record down to 13-2 on Saturday, which also ended the team's 12-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Woodstock Academy Centaurs by a score of 2-1. The Thunderbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Centaurs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Woodstock Academy, the win got them back to even at 7-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since June 4, 2024.

For Woodstock Academy's part, Brady Ericson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. The Centaurs are 3-1 when Ericson posts eight or more strikeouts, but 4-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Woodstock Academy's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Hernandez's first of the season.

Looking ahead, North Branford is taking a road trip to challenge East Hampton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Woodstock Academy, they will host Waterford at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
