Baseball Recap: Polytechnic Triumphs

Polytechnic had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Eisenhower Eagles by a score of 8-5 on Saturday.

Elijah Ip made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caiden Kennedy, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2025. Alex Chui was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Eisenhower's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Polytechnic has already played their next contest, a 6-3 loss against Sage Hill on the 23rd. As for Eisenhower, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-4 defeat against Hesperia on the 23rd.
