Recap: Upson-Lee Knights vs. Peach County Trojans
It was a good run, but the Upson-Lee Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Peach County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Upson-Lee in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost six in a row.
Peach County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Atiana Gilcrist out in front who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Gilcrist has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times she's played. Alexia Heyward was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Upson-Lee's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Peach County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.
The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Peach County will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. They will take on Upson-Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Upson-Lee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Trojans are ranked 135th).
