Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holtville). They put the hurt on the Calipatria Hornets with a sharp 20-4 win on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-10. As for Calipatria, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holtville will host Southwest EC at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calipatria, they will welcome Borrego Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.38 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
