Baseball Recap: Celeste Takes a Loss

Celeste extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-4-1. They lost 13-1 to the Cooper Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 on Tuesday.

As for Cooper, they pushed their record up to 15-2-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Considering they have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Cooper's part, they got a massive performance out of Karter Randle, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Randle a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Houchins, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Coming up, Celeste is taking a road trip to square off against Campbell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Cooper, they will welcome North Hopkins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
