Volleyball Game Preview: Spring Lake Park Panthers vs. Osseo Orioles

The Spring Lake Park Panthers will face off against the Osseo Orioles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Spring Lake Park is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Eden Prairie just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Osseo faced Anoka in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Orioles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tornadoes. The Orioles' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

The 3-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23, 22-25, 25-23.

Spring Lake Park's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Osseo, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Spring Lake Park was able to grind out a solid win over Osseo in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Orioles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
