Basketball Recap: Jal Takes a Loss

If Jal was riding high fresh off their 56-11 takedown of Loving last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jal Panthers were beaten by the Texico Wolverines 56-20 on Friday. The Panthers have struggled against the Wolverines recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Jal's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Texico, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Jal Panthers take on the Hagerman Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Texico, they will face off against Tatum at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tatum is on a four-game streak of home wins, Texico a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
