Basketball Recap: Ida Crown Jewish Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Talia Linzer and Nina Ripstein

On Tuesday, the Ida Crown Jewish Academy Aces came up short against the Westmont Sentinels and fell 52-45.

Despite the defeat, Ida Crown Jewish Academy had strong showings from Nina Ripstein, who posted 21 points, and Talia Linzer, who scored 14 points. Those 21 points gave Ripstein a new career-high.

Westmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sadie Scales led the charge by putting up eight points and 17 rebounds. Scales has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played. Danielle Hoover was another key player, posting 11 points.

Ida Crown Jewish Academy's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 11-6. As for Westmont, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9.
