Basketball Recap: Severance Comes Up Short

Severance's tournament run continued when they took on Rampart on Saturday. The Silver Knights fell 44-37 to the Rams. The Silver Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Severance still got an impressive performance from Zoey Smith, who posted 13 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Nautia Barber also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Zoe Waldrep was the offensive standout of the matchup as she went 6-for-11 to rack up 12 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in field goal percentage (55%).

Severance's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Rampart, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Severance wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-55 loss against Berthoud on the 16th. As for Rampart, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-39 defeat against Mesa Ridge on the 16th.
