Basketball Recap: Plains Comes Up Short

Plains and St. Ignatius squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Plains had to settle for second. They were dealt a 70-40 defeat at the hands of the St. Ignatius Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Horsemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 42nd).

Plains has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for St. Ignatius, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Plains has already played their next matchup (against Lincoln County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for St. Ignatius, they have already played their next game, a 68-28 win against Superior on the 14th.
