Baseball Recap: Poway Titans vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils

Poway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mt. Carmel Sundevils. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sundevils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2019.

Poway got a good showing from Jacob Wilson, who pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Trenton Uyeda made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Victor Encinas also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Poway's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mt. Carmel, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.

Poway has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against San Pasqual on the 25th. As for Mt. Carmel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against Southwest EC on the 25th.
