Softball Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Southside's offense. They came up short against the Lonoke Jackrabbits on Tuesday, falling 6-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jackrabbits this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 back in March.

Carlee Duncan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lonoke, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-7.

While Southside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
