Softball Recap: Johnson Creek Beats Poynette for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Johnson Creek never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Poynette Pumas. The win was familiar territory for the Bluejays, who have now won six matchups in a row.

The result came thanks to Hailee Walk's shutout, as she gave up just six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Madi Brigowatz and Libby Burbach did most of the damage at the plate: Brigowatz scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Burbach went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Buglass, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Johnson Creek's record now sits at 6-1. As for Poynette, their loss dropped their record down to 5-1.

Coming up, Johnson Creek will head out on the road to challenge Fort Atkinson at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bluejays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blackhawks have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Poynette, they will host Pardeeville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pumas are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
