Basketball Recap: Tipton Comes Up Short

Tipton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Lapel Bulldogs, falling 86-17. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-11.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mackenzie Farinella, who posted five points. Farinella is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

It was another big night for Laniah Wills, who dropped a double-double on 39 points and 13 rebounds for Lapel. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wills has scored at least a third of Lapel's points. Layla Dawson was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight assists and four steals.

Tipton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Lapel, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Tipton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-18 loss against Sheridan on the 18th. As for Lapel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-56 victory against Eastern Hancock on the 17th.
