Football Game Preview: Dunbar Wildcats vs. Benbrook Bobcats + Official Tickets

For the first time this season, Dunbar will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After each having a week off, they and the Benbrook Bobcats will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats last Friday. Dunbar came up short against Kennedale, falling 48-22. The defeat continues a trend for Dunbar in their meetings with Kennedale: they've now lost nine in a row.

Dunbar's loss came about despite a quality game from Kamron Lloyd, who rushed for 125 yards. Lloyd is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 125 every time he's taken the field this season. Dunbar also got a significant boost from Marcus McDade, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 105 yards.

Meanwhile, Benbrook had to suffer through a 46-15 loss at the hands of Eagle Mountain. The game marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Dunbar's defeat dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Benbrook, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-3.

The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Dunbar has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 295.4 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Benbrook has preferred to attack from the air: they average 310.2 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
