Basketball Recap: Hinkley Falls to Jefferson Academy in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Hinkley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Jefferson Academy Jaguars 48-8 on Tuesday. The Thunder lost against the Jaguars in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 79-0 score last time.

Jefferson Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Holly Hartmann out in front who went 6-for-12 en route to 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Daelin Ruff, who posted seven points and six steals.

Hinkley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-8 defeat against Aurora Central on the 5th. As for Jefferson Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-14 victory against Frontier Academy on the 3rd.
