Basketball Recap: Apple Springs Eagles vs. Neches Tigers
The Apple Springs Eagles won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They suffered a tough 66-41 loss at the hands of Neches. Apple Springs was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Apple Springs lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zeth Dugat, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Dakota Campbell was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Apple Springs' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Neches, their win bumped their record up to 16-11.
Apple Springs will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Centerville has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9. As for Neches, they will head out on the road to face off against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
