Softball Recap: Orange Beach Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Orange Beach got themselves on the board against St. Michael Catholic on Monday, but St. Michael Catholic never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Makos, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Kaitlynn Robertson, who gave up just a hit to keep St. Michael Catholic off the board. Robertson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Teagan Revette and LC Robbins did most of the damage at the plate: Revette scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Robbins scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Addy Oldham was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Orange Beach kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Orange Beach's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for St. Michael Catholic, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Looking ahead, Orange Beach will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Satsuma at 7:00 p.m. Satsuma will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Orange Beach surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Michael Catholic, they will venture away from home to square off against Davidson at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
