Baseball Recap: Como-Pickton Triumphs

Como-Pickton posted their closest victory since March 6th on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Big Sandy Wildcats, sneaking past 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Sean Carpenter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Como-Pickton's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ben Brewer, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Como-Pickton's record now sits at 11-5. As for Big Sandy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6.

Como-Pickton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
