Football Recap: Northwestern Takes a Loss

Northwestern lost against Smithville back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Huskies had to suffer through a 41-14 loss at the hands of the Smithies. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 615th, while the Smithies are ranked 207th).

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Smithville, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Northwestern is set to take on their familiar foe Hillsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Smithville will challenge rival Rittman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Smithies 13.6, the Indians 13.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
