Basketball Recap: Wakefield Gets the Win

Wakefield won the last time they faced Herington, and Paige Smith did her part to make sure it happened again. The Wakefield Bombers walked away with a 49-36 win over the Herington Railroaders on Tuesday thanks in part to Smith, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Wakefield's points.

Another player making a difference was Grace Rohrer, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 boards. Those 15 rebounds gave her a new career-high.

Wakefield now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Herington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wakefield has already played their next matchup (against Peabody-Burns), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Herington will square off against Solomon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
