Basketball Recap: Westminster Academy Victorious

Westminster Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Academy of Central Florida National on Friday. The Westminster Academy Lions slipped by the Academy of Central Florida National Golden Bulls 73-72.

Leading Westminster Academy to victory were Alexander Lloyd and Dwight Gaines Jr.. Lloyd went 10 of 23 on his way to 36 points, while Gaines Jr. went 8 for 15 en route to 21 points. Lloyd's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Brandon Sharpe was another key player, putting up four points.

Westminster Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Academy of Central Florida National, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-6.

Westminster Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 92-68 loss against The Villages Charter on the 25th. Academy of Central Florida National has also already played their next game, a 60-56 defeat against Gibbs on the 25th.
