Wade Brashears of Lake Mary Prep is the Florida High School Football Player of the Week

Junior running back went over 250 yards on the ground in win over Merritt Island Christian.

After receiving more than 22,000 votes, Wade Brashears of Lake Mary Prep (Lake Mary) has earned MaxPeps Florida High School Football Player of the Week honors.

Brashears, a junior running back, carried 16 times for 252 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-30 victory over Merritt Island Christian (Merritt Island). He also earned the honor earlier this month after going over 300 yards in a win over Calvary Chapel Academy.

Here are the rest of this week's candidates:

Ethan Crossan, First Baptist Academy (Naples): Junior quarterback completed 26 of 37 passes for 444 yards and four touchdowns in a 44-13 triumph over Lemon Bay (Englewood).



D.J. Duvalt, Mulberry: Senior running back rushed for 243 yards on 17 carries and three touchdowns in a 35-0 victory against Ida Baker (Cape Coral).

Jackson Hughes, Lake Minneola (Minneola): Senior signal caller connected on 20 of 27 pass attempts for 374 yards and four touchdowns in a 66-33 win against Forest (Ocala).

Tremaine Hughes Jr., St. John Paul II (Tallahassee): Senior quarterback completed 14 of 20 passes for 368 yards and six touchdowns while adding two carries for 70 rushing yards and an additional score in a 55-0 win over St. John Paul II Academy (Boca Raton).

Jordan Lyle, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale): Senior running back carried 16 times for 230 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-19 triumph over Monarch (Coconut Creek).

Kaleb Taylor-Burch, Creekside (St. Johns): Junior wide receiver hauled in 10 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-48 victory over Fleming Island (Orange Park).

Dane Thompkins, Lake Minneola: Junior running back carried 21 times for 233 yards and four touchdowns in a 63-33 victory over Forest (Ocala).



Winston Watkins Jr., First Baptist Academy: Junior wide receiver caught 12 passes for 218 yards and one touchdown in a 44-13 win against Lemon Bay (Englewood).

Ennio Yapoor, Norland (Miami): Junior quarterback completed 19 of 28 pass attempts for 375 yards and carried seven times for 41 yards and a touchdown in a 16-3 victory over Columbus (Miami, Fla.).
