Softball Recap: Horseshoe Bend Starts off Right with Win over Valley

Horseshoe Bend had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Valley Rams by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Generals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Cara Mae Davis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Lily Moss, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.

Valley dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Horseshoe Bend will face off against Glenwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Valley, they will square off against Eufaula at 4:30 p.m. on February 25th.
