Recap: Kaiser Cats vs. Santa Monica Vikings
The Kaiser Cats and the Santa Monica Vikings squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Kaiser Cats had to settle for second. The matchup between both teams wasn't particularly close, with the Cats falling 35-21. Their loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Kaiser's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kiyel Tyler, who gained 133 total yards. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Marshall Jr, who rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns.
Caden Mccallum continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Santa Monica, rushing for 240 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Mccallum really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Wyatt Brown was another key contributor, rushing for 26 yards and a touchdown.
Kaiser's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Santa Monica, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
Kaiser does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Santa Monica is on the road again on Friday and play against Rio Hondo Prep at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Rio Hondo Prep's defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so Santa Monica's offense will have their work cut out for Santa Monica.
