Baseball Game Preview: Berea-Midpark Titans vs. Perrysburg Yellow Jackets

The Berea-Midpark Titans will head out to face off against the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Berea-Midpark is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Independence just ended the team's three-game winning streak last Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to the Blue Devils.

Wapakoneta typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Perrysburg proved too difficult a challenge. They blew past the Redskins 11-4. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Heitmeyer, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Ryan Rettig was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Perrysburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Perrysburg and bumps their season record up to 18-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Berea-Midpark, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
