Kinsey Grauer leads Akron to victory over Caliche

Recap: Akron Rams vs. Caliche Buffaloes

The Akron Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Caliche as Akron made off with a 61-35 win. Akron pushed the score to 50-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Buffaloes had little chance of recovering from.

It was another big night for Kinsey Grauer, who scored 26 points along with five assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Taylor Benish was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Caliche lost, one person who can't be blamed is Karsyn Huss. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Huss hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Ryann Svoboda, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds.

Akron now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Caliche, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Akron won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Cubs at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Caliche, they will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Peetz is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
