Baseball Game Preview: Brockway Rovers vs. Kane Wolves

Brockway hasn't had much luck against Kane recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Rovers will challenge the Wolves at 4:00 p.m.

Brockway's last matchup with Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. The Rovers lost 9-3 to Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley. The Rovers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Meanwhile, Kane had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Owls by a score of 5-2.

Brock Wensel was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Eric Novosel and Kyle Zook did most of the damage at the plate: Novosel went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while Zook went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Novosel has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played.

Kane's record now sits at 6-3. As for Brockway, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Brockway came up short against Kane in their previous matchup back in March, falling 7-3. Can the Rovers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
